Cry for Mother Earth

One such song is "The Seed". It is a song by the Norwegian artist Aurora Aksnes, better known simply as Aurora. It was released as part of her album "Infections of a Different Kind (Step 1)" in 2018.

Aurora herself describes the song as a fierce cry for Mother Earth:

"I'm missing the anger in the youth. Not the blind rage, pointed towards all and nothing. But the kind of rage that wakes you up in the morning, the kind of rage that inspires you to do something with the power you have in you. So I made a song. Filled with fire. And power. It's time for us to really fight for her. This is a cry for Mother Earth."

The song is built around the proverb: "When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realize that one cannot eat money." The origin of this proverb is unknown, but it is an environmental message often attributed to various indigenous communities.
